Fireplace Lead – Journeyman Gas Installer

Hourly Rate: $25.00-$35.00

Key Responsibilities:

• Install gas/electric fireplaces, heaters, venting, and gas lines (interior/exterior)
• Follow gas codes, clearances, wiring schematics, and safety protocols
• Customize vent runs; install non-combustible materials and steel framing as needed
• Perform site checks, review plans, and coordinate with sales staff and contractors
• Train helpers on safe, proper installation practices
• Conduct roof work year-round and maintain truck/tools/PPE
• Complete paperwork, hazard assessments, and assist with warehouse/showroom duties
• Load/unload truck and handle supply pickups and deliveries
• Follow all safe work practices and perform other tasks as required

• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Valid G2 or G1 Gas Technician License (REQUIRED)
• 3+ years of relevant installation experience preferred
• Strong understanding of venting, clearances, and gas codes
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
• Comfortable working on roofs and outdoors year-round
• Experience leading or mentoring a small team is an asset
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Other required qualifications:

• Valid class 5 drivers license with a clean commercial driving record
• WHMIS
• CSTS
