We are looking for a Service Plumber join our Commercial team and grow under the leadership of our current forepersons and management. Your work will focus on maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing plumbing systems in homes, apartments, and commercial spaces.

While we’re ideally seeking a Journeyperson Plumber, but we welcome applications from experienced apprentices or partially certified candidates who are motivated to grow their skills and complete certification.

Salary: $36+ per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair issues such as clogs, leaks, faulty fixtures, and pipe problems
  • Install and replace water heaters, sump pumps, faucets, toilets, and valves
  • Perform maintenance inspections and provide service recommendations
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
  • Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
  • Cutting openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings
  • Installing boilers and hydronic zone systems
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Clearly communicate with clients to explain issues and solutions
  • Complete service documentation and keep records up to date
  • Ensure compliance with provincial plumbing codes and safety procedures
  • Ensuring positive interactions with customers and other contractors on site
  • Staying current on the plumbing industry and code
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance and worksite

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson plumber Certification (preferred)
  • 5 years Plumbing experience
  • Experience in a commercial setting is an asset
  • Experience installing commercial boilers and hot water tanks
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
  • Cross connection backflow certification (or willing to become certified)

Other requirements:

  • Ability to work overtime and be in an on-call rotation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, collaboratively with the team
  • Own basic hand tools
  • Must have a clean 5-year driving record
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • CSTS and WHMIS
